The SDR-OMNI/MIL combines the proven capabilities of the commercial SDR-OMNI with expanded military avionics testing in a rugged MIL-SPEC portable platform.

Supporting communications, navigation, TACAN, transponder, ADS-B, DME, ELT, GPS, and ATC Modes 1 & 2, the SDR-OMNI/MIL is designed for military flight line, depot maintenance, government agencies, and defense contractors. It serves as a modern replacement for legacy Tel-Instrument T-47 Series, IFR-4000, and IFR-6015 avionics test sets.

Tel-Instrument Electronics Corp. (TIC) has just released the SDR-OMNI/MIL P/N 90 000 165, NATO NSN 6625-01-718-8522. The Military version of the highly succssful SDR-All-In-One Avionic Test Set. This unit keeps all of the standard avionics testing capabilities but also adds TACAN and Military Modes 1 & 2. This model is a direct replacement for legacy Tel-Instrument T-47 Series and the IFR 4000, IFR 6000 and 6015 Test Sets.

The SDR-OMNI series of Test Sets provide the avionics technician with a comprehensive suite of RF test capabilities in a single ruggedized, yet lightweight, package for demanding commercial and military customers.

SDR-OMNI test capability:


ATC Transponder: Comprehensive testing for Modes 3A (1 & 2), C, S, and EHS, including automated FAA Part 43 Appendix F compliance.

ADS-B & FIS-B: Full validation of ADS-B 1090 and 978 UAT (In and Out), including FIS-B and NEXRAD weather data verification.

Collision Avoidance: Support for TCAS I & II, ACAS.

TACAN: 126 X & Y Channels, A/A, A/G. A/BCN and Inverse

DME: Distance Measuring Equipment and Tactical Air Navigation testing.

VOR & ILS: Verification of VHF Omnidirectional Range and Instrument Landing Systems (Localizer, Glideslope, and Marker Beacon).

SELCAL & Audio: Verification of Selective Calling tones and aircraft audio system performance (including distortion analysis).

Emergency Beacons: Comprehensive testing for ELT and EPIRB frequencies (121.5, 243, and 406 MHz). 

RF Analysis: Built-in VSWR (Standing Wave Ratio), Distance to Fault (DTF), and Cable Loss testing across a wide 1 MHz to 1.6 GHz range.

Intuitive Touch Interface – Fast operation, no complex menu navigation.

Built-in Wi-Fi Hotspot: Integrated Wi-Fi Hot-Spot allows remote operation without the need for an additional app or program for cockpit-to-ground testing. Can be disabled and turned off in senitive operational areas. 

MIL-SPEC Packaging: Class 1 MIL-SPEC Packaging ensures robust durability and protection in extreme environments.

This is the most advanced commercial flight line test set ever made. The combination of hardware and software can test virtually any RF signal from 200 kHz to 1.5 GHz. As the lightest ruggedized tester on the market, the SDR-OMNI offers unmatched capability and ease of use.
