Major SDR-OMNI Software Update - Version 1.6.7

Tel-Instrument Electronics Corp. is pleased to announce the release of Software Version 1.6.7 for the SDR-OMNI and SDR-OMNI/MIL Avionics Test Sets.

This significant software update introduces new capabilities, expanded test functionality, and numerous performance and user-interface enhancements designed to improve aircraft testing efficiency and operator experience.

Highlights include: GPS simulation, expanded ILS testing, improved transponder and ADS-B functions, and a new Dark Mode display.

Key Enhancements in Version 1.6.7

  • New GPS Simulation Capability: Adds support for optional GPS L1 satellite simulation, including stationary position and straight-line motion testing. GPS Simulation requires a separately purchased license and compatible equipment.
  • Expanded ILS Testing: Introduces selectable RTCA-based default and ICAO DDM limits for localizer and glideslope testing.
  • Enhanced Transponder Testing: Adds continuous manual testing for SIF modes, improves aircraft target identification, and refines pass/fail limits.
  • ADS-B and UAT Improvements: Enhances data decoding, target selection, and reporting accuracy, including expanded UAT performance reporting.
  • Improved Operator Interface: Introduces a selectable Dark Mode, new transmit/receive status indicators, improved position entry, and enhanced preset management.
  • Enhanced Documentation: Improves the readability of the onboard operator manual and introduces a convenient manual search feature.

Software Availability

Software Version 1.6.7 is available for both the commercial SDR-OMNI and military SDR-OMNI/MIL platforms. The software update is provided free of charge to existing users. The optional GPS Simulation capability requires separate licensing and additional equipment.

Commercial SDR-OMNI Owners: Software Version 1.6.7 is available for public download through the Tel-Instrument SDR-OMNI product page. Select the Downloads tab to access the software package and required update utility.

SDR-OMNI/MIL Owners: Due to U.S. export-control restrictions, SDR-OMNI/MIL software is not available for public download. Owners must contact Tel-Instrument Product Support to request an authorized secure download of the update.

Important Software Update Notice
Operators must use the new software update utility included with the release package. Older updater versions must not be used, as an unsuccessful update could require factory repair.
