What is the basic warranty on your test sets?

TEL-INSTRUMENT STANDARD LIMITED NEW PRODUCT WARRANTY

The Tel-Instrument Electronics Corporation (“TIC”) warrants that each Test Set it manufactures is free from defective material and workmanship for a period of one (1) years from the date of original shipment, subject to the following terms and conditions. Batteries, battery packs and accessories and optional equipment carry a separate ninety (90) day warranty. This Warranty does not cover the cost to calibrate the unit.

TIC will remedy any such warranted defect subject to the following conditions:

·  This warranty is limited to repairing or replacing any defective part or parts of the Test Set if found to be defective in workmanship or material resulting in the failure of the product to meet manufacturer specifications.

·  Prior to returning the unit, the customer must complete an RMA form located at Tel-Instruments Corporate Website, www.telinstrument.com, detailing the issue encountered and return the defective unit to TIC, with all transportation charges prepaid to the factory, within one (1) year from the date of sale. TIC will cover all transportation costs associated to return the product to the customer using standard ground shipping. This does not include broker and/or customs fees. Upon Acceptance at delivery of the Product, TIC will assume the risk of loss or damage until such time the unit is repaired/replaced and shipped from the company.

·  If the Test Set is found to be defective due to negligence, misuse, alteration, neglect, accident, shipping damage, removal/tamper of warranty seals from those other than authorized Tel-Instrument service centers or the improper use of the product outside the published procedures for the product, the warranty will not apply. TIC has sole decision on warranty coverage.

·  This warranty does not extend to units which have been repaired, calibrated, or altered in any way by a facility that is not approved, in writing, by TIC.

·  This warranty does not apply to any product where the seals or serial number thereof has been removed, defaced or changed, nor to accessories or batteries utilized not manufactured by TIC, or products repaired by a non-authorized repair facility.

·  TIC has made every effort to ensure that the installed product software meets the testing requirements set out by the FAA, DoD or NATO (e.g., AIMSPO, STAGNAG) but makes no representations that the software operates in an error-free fashion in all operating environments and UUT hardware and software configurations.

·  Separate software products carry a ninety (90) day warranty and include only software licensed by Tel-Instrument Electronics Corp. This warranty guarantees the software will meet/perform in all respects IAW the published specifications as established by Tel-Instrument Electronics Corp. but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error free operation, meet separate Customer requirements or in combination with other software or operating systems.

NO OTHER WARRANTY CAN SUPERSEED INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR SET FORTH IN WRITING SIGNED BY ANY OTHER PERSON, CORRPORATION OR DISTRIBUTOR OTHER THAN A REPRESENTATIVE OF TEL-INSTRUMENT ELECTRONICS CORP.

What training is available for the test sets?

User manuals are the primary training resource available.  Onsite factory training is available if required.

What is the difference between the AN/USM-719, AN/USM-708 and the TR-420?

All three test sets are based on a common design and are digital testers with software-based test packages.  The TR-420 is the commercial, off the shelf version of the test set and includes IFF Modes 1, 2, 3A, 4, S and Mode 5 Transponders and Interrogators.  The TR-420 also includes EHS, ADS-B and TACAN functions. The AN/USM-708 and AN/USM-719 were was designed for the U.S. Navy and add additional Comm/Nav/VSWR and shipboard tests.

Do you offer leasing or rental options?

Yes, purchase and operating leases are available through TIC Financial Services.  There are 2, 3, 4 and 5 year purchase option leases available and 1, 2, or 3 year operating leases.  Rates are based on the term and the size of the transaction.  Please call for quotation.  Some products are available under short term rental.

Where can I get repair service on my test set?

If the unit is no longer under warranty, repair service is available on a time and materials basis.  Repairs generally take 2 weeks from receipt of the unit depending on the availability of parts.  In the U.S. units should be shipped to the factory at One Branca Road, East Rutherford, NJ 07073.
